Faith Fernandez joins Nuestra Casa as the 2025–2026 Campus Compact AmeriCorps VISTA Member. Serving on the Environmental Justice team, she will focus on improving water access and equity in East Palo Alto. Her work will combine education, outreach, and collaboration — developing resources that uplift community voices, supporting initiatives that raise awareness, and building partnerships that strengthen the collective effort to ensure safe, affordable drinking water for all.
Faith brings a rich background in public health, anthropology, and community-based advocacy. At Stanford University, she co-developed health education resources for campus workers and introduced a new social needs screening tool at free clinics. She also gained valuable experience working within the health systems of Santa Clara and San Benito Counties, advancing health equity and strengthening organizational capacity.
Guided by her belief that “health is dignity, and community is the patient,” Faith approaches service as a reciprocal practice — listening first, then acting. She is deeply committed to the idea that lasting, collective change is possible through persistence, humility, and care.
Faith graduated from Stanford University with a B.A. in Anthropology, a minor in Political Science, and honors in Ethics in Society. Outside of work, she enjoys workout classes, spending time with friends and family, and reading on her Kindle. Connect with Faith on LinkedIn.
