Mayrose Munar is a first-generation college graduate, coach, advisor, and community leader whose work spans the public, private, nonprofit, and education sectors. She has spent more than three decades living and working throughout the California Bay Area, including leadership roles in the technology industry.

Her commitment to Nuestra Casa’s mission of community empowerment is rooted in both lived experience and professional practice. Mayrose understands firsthand the transformative role that education, community support, and opportunity play in shaping a child’s future.

Through her work with community-based organizations, environmental initiatives, and workforce development programs, she has come to care deeply about communities that sit in the shadow of some of Silicon Valley’s most affluent and innovative institutions. Mayrose is an ambassador of the Peninsula Open Space Trust (POST), has served as a Board Member of the Sequoia YMCA, and contributed as an NLG Stakeholder for San Mateo County’s Community Collaboration for Children’s Success for East Palo Alto, South San Francisco and Fair Oaks neighborhoods. She was also a Project Cornerstone Lead for Redwood City School District.

Mayrose is a longtime resident of Redwood City, where she stays active in the community and local schools. She holds a Master of Public Administration from Notre Dame de Namur University in Belmont and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.

An avid NFL and college football fan, Mayrose can also be found diving in the deep ocean, hiking through the forest, and traveling to the wild, untouched corners of the world.
